Trip to Genova, Italy with Chef Paolo Laboa
Join chef Paolo Laboa on a tour of his home region Liguria, in northwest Italy. This gorgeous coast overlooking the Ligurian Sea is where age-old cooking traditions met with passion and inspiration to create Paolo’s unique style. You will get to see first hand why Paolo loves Liguria and all it offers, as he shows his favorite places and invites you to sample all the tastiest dishes the region has to offer.
Share the best food at local hidden gems and learn the fascinating stories that lie behind these iconic dishes. If you have a love for Italian food and wine and an interest in learning more about both, you are in for an amazing vacation!
YOUR CHEF/ GUIDE:
Paolo Laboa’s love for cooking started in his mother's kitchen, where he learned the secrets of real Genovese cooking. After many achievements and adventures, including winning the World Pesto Championship, Paolo has found his new home in Portland, ME. Here he and his wife Mercedes live with their two children and run Solo Italiano, a much-loved pillar of the farm to table tradition in Portland. Paolo is very excited to share his home and passion for fresh foods and cooking with you on this special trip!
ITINERARY:
Sunday, 11/3/19:
Arrive at your hotel, check-in and meet up with Paolo to enjoy evening cocktails and review plans for the delicious week to come!
Monday, 11/4/19:
Spend the day, enjoying a delicious lunch and dinner in Alba. You will discover secret spots while we hunt for Truffles and later have them as part of your meal!
Tuesday, 11/5/19:
You will explore Recco and sample their special Focaccia, as served in Solo Italiano as “Focaccia di Recco”!
Spend the evening in Camogli and dine at the fantastic restaurant Cucu.
Wednesday, 11/6/19:
Spend the day in Piedmont and visit two of the lovely vineyards which we source wine from for Solo Italiano!
Thursday, 11/7/19:
You will spend the day exploring the city of Genova. In the afternoon we will visit the Genova market, sampling Genova street food. We will continue on to have a very special dinner in Genova that night.
Friday, 11/8/19:
The final day will be spent exploring and sightseeing. Details to come.
Saturday, 11/9/19:
Check out of your hotel and savor one last goodbye breakfast with the group.
PRICE:
$3,800 per person
($1500 per person deposit due at sign up, full balance due 9/15/19)

If you must cancel your trip reservation with us before 9/1/2019 you will receive a full refund of your deposit. After 9/1/2019 your deposit will be nonrefundable.
